2024-2025 Fall Programs

Registration for Fall Programs (Track Rascal and Older) will open on September 1, 2024. When registering for programs, athletes will have to be current members of BC Athletics. The registration form has a link to the BC Athletics membership registration. Prior members will be able to renew their membership, and new athletes will be able to take out a BCA membership. Be sure to select Kamloops Track and Field Club as your affiliated club.

Track Rascal athletes must take out a Track Rascal membership. JD (9-13) and older athletes are encouraged to register for a Competitive Membership with BC Athletics. Once you have completed our registration with BCA, you need to record your assigned number (this will be your BCA / Athletics Canada membership number for life, so it is important to use the same information that you used in the past to complete this.

After you have your number, return to the club registration form, enter your BCA number, and complete the rest of the club registration. Upon payment, you will be recorded in our club database for this season.

Mini-Track Rascals

Mini-Track Rascals are NOT able to take out a BCA membership. Their programs will be considered camps, and their insurance will be through a camp-sanctioning fee, paid by the club. Registration for this camp will open on September 1, 2024, through a link to Trackie set up only for Mini-Track Rascals (3-5 years of age).

Kamloops Throws Meet #2

The first club meet sanctioned by BC athletics returned to competition on Saturday, Aug. 1 and 2, at Hillside Stadium. This meet was carefully set up to follow the rules of the Provincial Health Officer, BC Athletics, Via Sport, and the City of Kamloops. It was limited to 9 athletes and coach along with officials to manage the meet. Spectators were not allowed to view the meet from the throwing area.

Summer Camps for 9-12 Year Olds

Registration for our Youth Summer Camps is now open. These camps are for athletes who are 9 – 12 years old by Dec. 31, 2020. There are 2 camps – Aug. 2-7 and Aug. 11-14. They run from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm each day. Drop-off may occur from 7:45 am with a responsible person being there to receive your athletes and provide supervision.

Training Without the Club

The Derm-in-ator…..
Our track club is shut down for now. So workouts are still happening, but without our coach. Four of us work out together and help each other. Still keeping our routine of three workouts per week. Sure miss our other track mates. Sure miss our coach. Hurdling is sooo much fun.

2019 Kamloops Sports Council Award Nominees

Athletes and a coach from Kamloops Track and Field Club are in the running to receive awards for their performances in 2019. The awards include Male Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, PacificSport Interior BC International Excellence Award, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 52 Maters Athlete Award.

Dr. Bondarchuk’s Birthday

Sunday, May 31 was Dr. B’s 80th birthday. Judy organized a group of club members to gather and do a drive-by birthday wish for him. The video linked below shows how that went on a rainy morning.

Officials’ Webinars

For those interested in getting some information on the new rules and the changes from IAAF to World Athletics, and perhaps to look at other disciplines than the one you are already in, take a chance to register for one of the webinars being hosted by various people from the National Official’s Committee.
